The legislation set out by Government are the Equality Act 2010, which received Royal Assent on 8 April 2010 and comes into effect in October 2010, the Business and the Disability Discrimination Act (2005), (DDA 2005), which builds on and extends earlier disability discrimination legislation, principally the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
